CT Food 4 Thought is a nonprofit organization based in Torrington, Connecticut, with a mission to provide healthy and locally grown food to the community while creating job opportunities for local residents. Our parent company, New Opportunities, Inc. a community based organization in Waterbury with the mission to work with the most vulnerable in our communities to provide direct social service assistance programming while enacting community level change and empowering individuals to reach their maximum potential is the parent organization and founder of CT Food 4 Thought.

 

We began planting our first seeds in December 2021 and have since been focused on producing high-quality, nutrient-dense food for our community. As a hydroponic farm, we use cutting-edge technology to grow fresh produce year-round in a controlled environment, ensuring that we are producing food in a sustainable and eco-friendly manner.

 

Our focus on providing living wage jobs and CEA job training sets us apart from other farms in the area. We believe that by offering our employees a living wage and the opportunity to receive job training, we are not only creating jobs but also supporting the local economy.

 

Our produce goes to local grocery stores, schools, hospitals, and food security programs, allowing us to directly impact the health and well-being of those in our community. We are proud to be a part of New Opportunities and share their commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of those around us.
